As Fudzilla reports, the next AMD processor 'Shanghai' will be a 45nm native quad core, which will be about 10 - 20 percent faster than the recent 65nm K10 processors. This means Shanghai will be faster than the Penryn CPUs.
It's supposed, that Deneb will be released before Nehalem.

Some time ago AMD sended samples of the new 45nm CPUs with the codename 'Deneb' to a bunch of manufacturers like Dell or HP. The feedback was quite positive, as the new microarchitecture works just fine and brings some enhancements, like lowered power consumption and clocks above 3.0 GHz.
